Religion and War. An exhibition about the victims of religious repression opened in Vilnius

Yesterday, as part of the conference Constantinople and Moscow. The Transformation of Church Affiliation and the Influence of Imperial Policy, a photo exhibition titled Religion and War opened near Vilnius Town Hall, based on materials from countries that have become victims of religious aggression, terrorism, and totalitarian regimes.

The exhibition displays documentary photographs, archival materials, quotations from official statements, and eyewitness testimonies demonstrating the use of religion as an instrument of war and repression in the Middle East, Africa, and during Russia’s occupation of Ukrainian territories.

Among those attending the opening were the chancellor and head of the Lithuanian Exarchate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, Father Vitaliy Motskus, together with clergy, the director of the Ukrainian House in Vilnius Petro Pyrohov, and Metropolitan of the Ukrainian Church and its spokesperson Yevstratiy Zorya.
