Russian Orthodox Church Sponsor, ‘Orthodox Oligarch’ Malofeyev Urges Putin to Drop Nuclear Bomb on Ukraine

Konstantin Malofeyev, owner of the Russian propaganda television channel Tsargrad, has proposed that Vladimir Putin launch a nuclear strike against warehouses storing Western weapons in Ukraine.

He made the statement during an appearance on British journalist Piers Morgan’s talk show, The Moscow Times reports.

“We need to issue an ultimatum. In 72 hours, a nuclear strike will be launched against warehouses in western Ukraine where your own weapons are stored, weapons that are being used to kill our military personnel and civilians. During that time, people in the affected area could be evacuated,” Malofeyev said.

The “Orthodox oligarch” stressed that Russians are “Christians, good people,” while Ukrainians are “Slavic brothers.”

At the same time, Malofeyev described Putin’s failure to use nuclear weapons “right now” as a “mistake.”

Malofeyev is known to be one of the principal sponsors of the Moscow Patriarchate and the “DPR/LPR” terrorist groups. He previously served as deputy to Moscow Patriarch Kirill in the World Russian People’s Council (WRPC). In 2024, he was replaced in that position by his close aide Sergei Rudov.

Malofeyev has been under sanctions imposed by the 27 European Union member states, the United States and Canada since 2014. Since 2017, he has been internationally wanted on charges of financing separatism and terrorism in Crimea and Donbas.

As LF previously reported, Konstantin Malofeyev, the Orthodox oligarch and founder of the Tsargrad media group, presented scenarios for Russia’s future through 2050 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, describing the use of nuclear weapons as the “best option.” His “positive scenario” envisages the annexation of Kyiv, Odesa and Kharkiv, Russia becoming the undisputed global leader, and the collapse of the European Union.

It was previously reported that Konstantin Malofeyev had called on the Russian authorities to launch a nuclear strike against Kyiv following a Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow.

We previously reported that Orthodox oligarch Konstantin Malofeyev would be delivering lectures to second-year students at the Faculty of Political Science at Moscow State University.
