64 percent of Lithuania’s residents trust the Church. This is evidenced by the results of a Baltijos tyrimai survey, Delfi reports.
According to the study, among the country’s institutions, residents continue to place the greatest trust in the police and the army, and the least in the Seimas and the government,
During the survey, conducted from 19 February to 2 March, respondents were asked whether they trusted or did not trust each of ten Lithuanian institutions. 76 percent of respondents expressed trust in the police, 72 percent in the army, and 35 percent in the government.
Five other Lithuanian institutions are trusted more often than not. In particular, 64 percent of respondents trust the Church, while 30 percent do not.
From 19 February to 2 March 2026, the Lithuanian British market and public opinion research company Baltijos tyrimai conducted a representative survey of Lithuania’s residents commissioned by the ELTA news agency. During the study, 1,014 residents of Lithuania aged 18 and older were interviewed using the face to face method, with the survey conducted at 110 sampling points.
